Does Pondfield PT Take My Insurance?

At Pondfield PT, we accept most major insurance plans including:

Aetna • Medicare • United Healthcare • Direct Payment

When you contact us, we’ll reach out to your carrier to verify your specific physical therapy coverage. We’ll then call you to discuss your coverage and your options before you come in. At Pondfield Physical Therapy there will never be any surprises at your first appointment or any surprise billing.

 

Do I need a prescription for physical therapy?

Under NY law, you can receive physical therapy treatment from a licensed physical therapist without a physician referral or prescription. This is called “Direct Access” which makes it easier than ever to get the care you need.
 

Do you have parking?

Yes. Public meter parking can be found on Pondfield Road (2 hour) or behind our building at the Garden Avenue Lot ( 2, 3 or 4 hour- depending on the row you park in- each row has a sign).

Meter payment can be paid using Paystation or PANGO app. If you park in the Garden Avenue Lot, you can access the lower entrance (under stairs) or at the top of the stairs, entrance between the Verizon and Apple Bank buildings. Once inside, take the elevator to the second floor and follow signs to our office.

 

How long will my treatment sessions be?

Initial evaluation is one-hour, subsequent treatments are 45-60 minutes depending on your treatment plan. 
 

What should I expect for my first visit?

Please arrive 10-15 minutes early to your first visit to fill out all necessary paperwork and change into appropriate clothing if needed. Remember to bring your prescription for physical therapy, your insurance card or Worker’s Comp/ No-Fault information and a photo ID. Some comfortable and loose clothing that will allow you to easily expose the area being treated, as well as perform exercises. Sneakers or exercise footwear are suggested. 
 

What if I need to cancel a scheduled appointment?

Please provide 24hrs advance notice if you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment. You can call our office 914-600-8626 or email questions@pondfieldpt.com A fee of $40 may be incurred.
